Syracuse shuts down Eastern Washington

Oshae Brissett posted 20 points and eight rebounds and Syracuse totally shut down Eastern Washington to open the season and the 2K Empire Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project with a 66-34 win at the Carrier Dome.

Brissett (pictured, credit: orangefizz.net) was 8-of-14 from the field to be the lone Syracuse player to reach double figures. Tyus Battle and Bourama Sidibe each netted eight points in the win.

The Orange held the Eagles to just 13-of-59 (.220) shooting from the field, including 6-of-35 (.171) from three. Tyler Kidd led EWU with nine points.

2K Empire Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project resumes on Thursday when UConn hosts Morehead State and UMKC travels to Iowa.

Syracuse, UConn, Iowa, and Oregon will travel to New York to participate in the Championship Rounds presented by Continental Tire of the 2K Empire Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project. The Orange and Huskies renew their storied rivalry in the first semifinal round game on Thursday, Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden, followed by the Ducks and Hawkeyes. The consolation and championship games will then be played on Friday, Nov. 16.
