Justin Bibbs scored 25 points and Virginia Tech shot better than 60 percent from the field and 3-point range in earning a 99-73 win over Houston Baptist in the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project finale for both teams.
Bibbs was joined in double figures by Ahmad Hill and his 19 points, Justin Robinson, who had 15 points and seven assists, and Wabissa Bede and his 13 points.
As a team, the Hokie shot 32-of-50 (.640) from the field and 16-of-26 (.615) from three.
Ian DuBose and David Caraher scored 15 points apiece to lead the Huskies, who also received 13 points and seven rebounds from Josh Ibarra and 10 points and seven assists from Braxton Bonds.
The 2K Classic continues on Wednesday with Belmont at Providence and Saint Louis hosting Detroit Mercy. The tournament concludes Friday with Seattle playing at Washington.
