GREEN BAY TAKES SUBREGIONAL TITLE

Green Bay led by eight at halftime and continued to expand its lead as the Phoenix took an 87-70 victory over Morehead State in the Subregional Round title game of the 2K Empire Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project in Cheney, Wash.

JayQuan McCloud scored 23 points, hitting 8-of-11 from the field, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range in earning Subregional MVP honors. ShanQuan Hemphill tallied 17 points, Sandy Cohen II had 14 points, six rebounds and six assists, and Cody Schwartz scored 13 points.

Jordan Walker scored 25 to lead Morehead State, while Lamontray Harris posted 12 points and 16 rebounds.

In the consolation game, Jesse Hunt scored 32 points to lead Eastern Washington to an 87-80 overtime win over UMKC.

Xavier Bishop had 28 for the Kangaroos.
