In Pittsburgh, Sayeed Pridgett’s jumper with 1:11 to play in overtime gave Montana a 79-77 lead it would not relinquish as the Griz earned an 83-78 win at Pittsburgh in the Progressive Legends Classic opener for both teams.

Michael Oguine led all scorers with 29 points for Montana to go along with six rebounds. Ahmaad Rorie scored 18 points, Pridgett ended the game with 12 points and eight rebounds, and Bobby Moorehead tallied 14 points to go with six boards.

The Griz took advantage of Pittsburgh mistakes, converting 19 turnovers into 30 points while the Panthers scored only six points off 15 Montana turnovers.

The Panthers were led in scoring by Shamiel Stevenson, who had 19 points along with six rebounds. Ryan Luther had 18 points and 11 rebounds and Jared Wilson-Frame posted 15 points.

In a game that never saw a lead greater than seven points, the Griz had a chance to win it in regulation but Oguine’s 3-point attempt with three seconds remaining did not fall and regulation ended 73-73.

The Progressive Legends Classic continues on Wednesday with Pittsburgh hosting UCSB and Montana heading northeast of Pittsburgh to take on Penn State. Both games are slated to start at 7:00pm.
