Montana, which was coming off a win at Pittsburgh two days earlier, was led by Ahmaad Rorie, who had 16 points. Michael Oguine had 15 points and seven rebounds and Jamar Okoh registered 11 points and six boards.

In Pittsburgh, five Panthers scored in double figures as Pitt earned its first win of the season, 70-62, over UCSB.

Jonathan Milligan and Jared Wilson-Frame led the balanced attack with 14 points apiece with Wilson-Frame also hauling down six rebounds. Ryan Luther tallied a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds, Parker Stewart scored 12 points, and Shamiel Stevenson added 11 points and six rebounds.

The Panthers won the game at the foul line, going 21-of-25 against just 10-of-22 for the Gauchos.
