LSU Takes Down South Alabama

Regional Round action in the FanDuel Legends Classic came to a close on Thursday when LSU earned a 78-66 decision over South Alabama in Baton Rouge.

Ben Simmons had game highs of 23 points and 16 rebounds for the Tigers. Fellow freshman Antonio Blakeney tallied 22 points, Josh Gray scored 11 points, and Elbert Robinson III added 10 points.

South Alabama was led by the 10-point, 10-rebound effort of Don MuepoKelly. Nick Stover scored a team-high 13 points, Georgi Boyanov had 12 points, and Ken Williams netted 10 points.

The Championship Rounds of the FanDuel Legends Classic begin on Monday at Barclays Center in Brooklyn when LSU faces Marquette and NC State plays Arizona State. The consolation and championship games will be held on Tuesday.

Subregional Round action also begins on Monday at Kennesaw State when Belmont meets South Alabama and Kennesaw State hosts IUPUI. The winners will meet for the Subregional Round championship on Tuesday, preceded by the consolation game.
