ESPN2 TO TELEVISE COLLEGE BASKETBALL INVITATIONAL SEMIFINALS AND CHAMPIONSHIP

PRINCETON, N.J. – The 2022 College Basketball Invitational semifinals and championship game will air on ESPN2 under its revised format.

ESPN2 will televise the semifinals and championship game of the CBI on Tuesday, March 22 and Wednesday, March 23 from the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach, Fla.

“We have always valued our relationship with ESPN and we are pleased to continue it under our revised format,” says Gazelle group president Rick Giles. “To have the CBI semifinals and championship on ESPN2 enhances the event and provides a great platform to showcase teams in the college basketball postseason.”

In previous years, ESPNU aired the best-of-three CBI Championship Series, which was played at home sites to determine the CBI champion. Last year, due to the pandemic, the tournament format changed and because of the positive feedback on the format and venue, it was decided to return to that format with 16 teams this year at the Ocean Center.

The field for the 2022 CBI will be announced on Sunday, March 13. Additional television details for the first round and quarterfinal round will be announced at a later date.
