Drake downs Mastodons to open 2022 Roman CBI

DAYTONA BEACH – Top seeded Drake shot 59 percent from the field and placed five players in double figures in taking an 87-65 win over Purdue Fort Wayne in the opening game of the 2022 Roman CBI.

Okay Djamgouz led all scorers with 20 points, helped by a 6-for-8 performance from three. Garrett Sturtz and Tucker DeVries each tallied 14 points, ShanQuann Hemphill had 11 points and Tremell Murphy added 10 points.

Jarred Godfrey paced the Mastodons with 16 points while Ra Kpedi had 13 points and nine rebounds.

Drake will meet the winner of Sunday’s VMI-UNCW game on Monday.
