Abilene Christian Advances to Roman CBI Quarterfinals

DAYTONA BEACH – Abilene Christian led by as many as 21 points in taking an 82-70 decision from Troy in the eighth and final First Round contest of the Roman CBI at the Ocean Center.

Eleven different Wildcats scored, led by Coryon Mason and his 19 points. Cameron Steele posted 18 points and seven rebounds while Airion Simmons scored 11 points. ACU also received 10 points from Reggie Miller.

Mason’s free throw with 17:44 gave the Wildcats their biggest lead at 51-32, but Troy would not go away before falling by 12.

Khalyl Waters led the Trojans with 18 points while Desmond Williams netted 14.

Abilene Christian advances to the Quarterfinals on Monday and a showdown with No. 3 Ohio.
