A1A Marathon

In 2006, over 6,000 runners participated in the 2nd Annual A1A Marathon and Half Marathon in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. With the course set on one of the most picturesque roads in the entire country, runners enjoyed breathtaking views of the ocean, palm trees and the city.

All-American Shootout

In 2007, The Gazelle Group staged two All-American Shootout events featuring some of the nation's top high school recruits. The first game took place in February at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kans. and featured Kansas State signee Michael Beasley and Florida signee Kenny Kadji. The second event was held in December at Freedom Hall in the basketball crazed city of Louisville, Ky. and featured Memphis signee Tyreke Evans, Louisville signee Jared Swopshire and Lance Stephenson, one of the top juniors in the country at that time.

America's Cup
Gazelle consulted on the worldwide television production of the 1999-2000 America’s Cup in New Zealand. New Zealand swept Prada to keep the Cup in Auckland.

BCA Basketball Classic

The BCA Basketball Classic, which The Gazelle Group produced from 2000-2001 and 2003-2006, supported the Black Coaches Assocation (BCA). Host schools and tournament champions have included Marquette, Washington, Xavier, Wake Forest and Indiana.

BCA Basketball Invitational

From 2001-02 and 2004-06, The Gazelle Group produced the BCA Invitational to support the Black Coaches Association (BCA). Held at traditional basketball powers like Syracuse and N.C. State, this three-day exempt tournament attracted more than 80,000 college basketball fans.

BCA Football Classic

In 2000 and 2001, Gazelle produced the BCA Classic exempt college football game on behalf of the Black Coaches Association. The 2000 game, which featured Georgia Tech and Virginia Tech on ESPN, was never played due to a lightning storm. Brigham Young defeated Tulane 70-35 in the 2001 BCA Classic. ESPN nationally televised the game.

Blue Ribbon Challenge

In 2007, The Gazelle Group produced the Blue Ribbon Challenge, a season-opening event, hosted by two of college basketball’s top teams from the nation’s most prestigious conferences — the University of Florida from the SEC and Rutgers University from the BIG EAST. The 2006 NCAA champions Florida hosted four games in the event, including a championship game tilt with Rutgers, which hosted three games at the RAC.

Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge

In 1999, Gazelle created the Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge women’s college basketball tournament on behalf of the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association and the American Cancer Society. Connecticut hosted and won the inaugural event which also featured Old Dominion, Kentucky and Clemson. Connecticut went on to win the national championship that season. The 2000 tournament was hosted by Wisconsin and featured Notre Dame, Oklahoma and Georgia. Notre Dame won the tournament and also went on to win the national championship that season. Iowa State hosted and won the 2001 Coaches vs. Cancer Challenge which also featured Maryland, Mississippi State and DePaul. ESPN televised the Championship Game of the event each year.

Dick’s Sporting Goods Open

Formerly the B.C. Open, in 2007 after 35 years on the PGA Tour, the event began a new chapter on the Champion Tour. Played at En-Joi Golf Course in Endicott, N.Y., 180 miles from New York City, this event provided tremendous opportunity to reach an affluent demographic and gave sponsors access to golf’s “living legends.”

Elite 24 Hoops Classic

The Gazelle Group produced the Elite 24 Hoops Classic in 2006. The classic brought the top 24 high school basketball players together, regardless of age or shoe affiliation, at the most legendary playground in the world, Rucker Park in New York City.

PrimeTime Shootout

The Gazelle Group managed sponsorship and event staging and promotion for the 2004 PrimeTime Shootout, the nation’s top invitational tournament showcasing the finest high school basketball teams and players. This event featured future No. 1 overall NBA Draft pick Dwight Howard and fellow NBA draft picks Sebastian Telfair, Josh Smith and J.R. Smith. The event brought nearly 20,000 spectators to Trenton’s Sovereign Bank Arena over three days, while also attracting top print, broadcast and web media. Games were broadcast live by the YES network and Comcast SportsNet and were also available on DirecTV, reaching more than 20 million homes.

ILF Lacrosse World Championships
World Cup of Lacrosse

In 1998, the Gazelle Group was retained by US Lacrosse to sell corporate sponsorship for the ILF Lacrosse World Championships, an event that is held every four years. Gazelle also produced, distributed and syndicated the international television broadcast of the event. The games were televised in the U.K. and Australia. Some still consider the championship game to be the greatest lacrosse game ever played. The United States rallied from an eight-goal deficit to defeat Canada in overtime. The following year, Gazelle produced the World Cup of Lacrosse to rematch the United States and Canada. The U.S. defeated Canada two games to none in the best of three series. The games were internationally televised throughout the United States, Canada, Australia, Asia, India and Japan.
