Michigan and SMU to meet for 2K Classic Championship

It will be Michigan and SMU in Friday’s title game of the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project at Madison Square Garden.

In Thursday’s first semifinal game, Semi Ojeleye scored 24 points to lead SMU to a 76-67 win over Pittsburgh. Shake Milton scored 14 points and handed out five assists and Ben Moore added 12 points.

Pittsburgh was paced by Michael Young and Jamel Artis who had 22 and 20 points, respectively.

In the nightcap, Michigan jumped out to a 29-point lead just after the start of the second half to take a 79-61 decision from Marquette. Zak Irvin netted 16 points to go with seven rebounds and five assists for the Wolverines. Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman had 15 points, as did Mark Donnal, while D.J. Wilson posted 10 points and 12 rebounds.

Marquette received 19 points from Luke Fischer. Haanif Cheatham had 12 points and six rebounds and Jujuan Johnson tallied 11 points.

Michigan and SMU will square off for the 2K Classic championship at 7:00pm. The game will be preceded by Pittsburgh-Marquette at 4:30pm. Both games will air on ESPN2 with Karl Ravech and Fran Fraschilla calling the action. Tickets can be purchased at http://bit.ly/VA0nnh
