Tigers Win in Gotham Classic

17GOTHAM_TeamsKareem Brewton Jr. came off the bench to score a game-high 19 points and lead Memphis to a 67-58 win over Albany in the Houzz Gotham Classic presented by TicketIQ.

Brewton (pictured) was 8-of-11 from the field, including hitting all three of his 3-pointers, in just 17 minutes of play. Jeremiah Martin tallied 13 points and handed out four assists and Jimario Rivers netted 11 points.

Albany, which entered the game with a 10-1 record, marking the best start in school history, was paced by Joe Cremo and his 16 points. David Nichols scored 14 points and Greig Stire had six points and a game-best 11 rebounds.

Albany kept it close by pulling down 14 offensive rebounds which resulted in 15 second chance points. Memphis received 31 of its 67 points from its bench, led by Brewton.

The Houzz Gotham Classic presented by TicketIQ resumes Saturday at noon with Memphis taking on Louisville in the Showcase Game of the Gotham Classic at Madison Square Garden. On Sunday, Bryant will close out its tournament schedule with a home game against Siena.
