Cardinals Soar in Gotham Classic

Memphis to face Albany on Tuesday

17GOTHAM_TeamsLouisville scored 71 of the game’s final 100 points in taking a 102-59 victory from Bryant in the Houzz Gotham Classic presented by TicketIQ.

With 5:09 to play in the first half, Bryant’s Sabastian Townes scored on a layup to pull the Bulldogs to within one, 31-30. It was all Cardinals from there.

Quentin Snider, Anas Mahmoud, and Deng Adel (pictured) all scored 17 points for Louisville with Mahmoud also pulling down a game-best nine rebounds. Ray Spalding tallied 11 points and matched Mahmoud’s rebounding total, while Lance Thomas added 10 points and seven rebounds.

Ikenna Ndugba led Bryant with 17 points. Brandon Carroll scored 12 points and Townes closed the game with 10 points and six rebounds.

The Houzz Gotham Classic presented by TicketIQ resumes Tuesday with Memphis hosting Albany in an 9:00pm (ET) start on ESPNU.

On Saturday, the Showcase Game of the Gotham Classic tips at noon at Madison Square Garden featuring Louisville vs. Memphis. On Sunday, Bryant will close out its tournament schedule with a home game against Siena.
