Pitt Takes 72-62 Decision From Morehead State

Jamel Artis scored a game-best 22 points and Michael Young netted 20 points as Pittsburgh earned a 72-62 win over Morehead State in Day 4 of the Gotham Classic.

The Panthers won the game at the foul line, outscoring the Eagles, 29-11, with Pitt taking 36 free throws as opposed to 15 by Morehead State.

Rafael Maia had four points and a game-high nine rebounds for Pitt. Artis and Young each pulled down six boards.

Morehead State was led by Brent Arrington and his 13 points. Corban Collins and Lyonell Gaines each tallied 11 points and DeJuan Marrero had six points and eight rebounds.

Morehead State plays next Thursday at Eastern Washington.
