The Quarterfinals of the eighth annual College Basketball Invitational are set, with play to resume on Monday.

In Boulder, Colo., Colorado used its size advantage to the max in posting an 87-78 win over Gardner-Webb.

The Buffs outrebounded GWU 43-18, resulting in a 22-6 disparity in second-chance points. In addition, 66 of Colorado’s 87 points came in the paint.

Josh Scott led the Buffs (16-17) with 23 points and 15 rebounds, becoming one of only eight players to pull down at least 15 boards in a CBI game. Troy Miller had 12 points and six caroms, Eli Stalzer netted 11 points, and Xavier Johnson and Tre-Shaun Fletcher had 10 points apiece.

Gardner-Webb (20-15) received 27 points from Tyrell Nelson. Adonis Burbage tallied 13 points and Harold McBride had 10 points.

The Buffs will travel to Seattle for the CBI Quarterfinals on Monday, where the Redhawks were 62-45 winners over Pepperdine.

In Seattle, Wash., Seattle held Pepperdine to just 16-of-54 (.296) shooting from the floor in capturing a 62-45 win.

Seattle (17-15) was led by Isiah Umipig and his 24 points and seven rebounds. Jarell Flora added 20 points.

Pepperdine (18-14) was paced by the nine-point performance of Jeremy Major.

In Hempstead, N.Y., Ethan O’Day scored a game-high 17 points to lead five Catamounts in double figures as Vermont took an 85-81 decision at Hofstra. Trae Bell-Haynes and Zach McRoberts each tallied 13 points, Dre Wills added 11 points and seven rebounds, and Drew Urquhart netted 10 points. As a team, Vermont (19-13) shot 55.8 percent from the field (29-of-52).

Hofstra (20-14) was paced by Juan’ya Green and his 16 points and five assists. Dion Nesmith scored 15 points, Ameen Tanksley had 14 points and seven rebounds, and Rukas Gustys had 13 points.

Vermont will host Radford in a Quarterfinal Round game on Monday.

In Dover, Del., Radford limited Delaware State to just 21-of-63 (.333) shooting from the floor and outrebounded the Hornets 48-33 en route to a 78-57 road win.

Javonte Green led the Highlanders with 17 points and nine rebounds while Cameron Jones and Rashaun Davis netted 18 and 11 points, respectively. The win moves Radford to 22-11 on the season, the third time in school history and second time in as many years that plateau has been attained.

Delaware State (18-18) received 21 points from DeAndre Haywood.

In Tulsa, Okla., a hot shooting night that included eight second half 3-pointers pushed Oral Roberts past UC Santa Barbara, 91-87.

Obi Emegano became the 13th player in CBI history to score 30 points in a tournament game, netting 30 on 9-of-18 shooting from the field, 3-of-3 from behind the arc, and 9-of-11 from the line. Brandon Conley added a season high 14 points and led ORU (19-14) with eight rebounds.

UCSB (19-14) was led offensively by Gabe Vincent’s 22 points, while Alan Williams notched a double-double with 19 points and 10 rebounds, his 17th double-double of the season and 50th of his career. After going 7-of-10 from the field and 4-of-4 from 3-point range, John Green added 18 points for UCSB.

Oral Roberts (19-14) will play Monday at Loyola Chicago, a 62-59 victor over Rider on Tuesday.

In Macon, Ga., Mercer and Stony Brook battled through 23 lead changes but in the end Ike Nwamu rose above the rest with 10 points in the final 2:02, including the game-winning jumper with two seconds remaining on the clock to lift the Bears to a 72-70 win.

Nwamu ended the game with 25 points while T.J. Hallice added 13 points and eight rebounds and Jestin Lewis scored 12 points and pulled down seven boards for Mercer (19-15).

For Stony Brook (23-12) it was the second straight game it lost in the final seconds, following a heart-breaking defeat in the American East championship on Saturday. Jameel Warney paced the Seawolves with 14 points and 13 rebounds, Carson Puriefoy had a team-high 19 points, and Kameron Mitchell added 15 points.

Mercer will host Louisiana Monroe in Monday’s Quarterfinals.

In Monroe, La., Tylor Ongwae notched a season-high 26 points including a pair of huge 3-pointers late as the ULM overcame a 19-0 Eastern Michigan run in the second half to win, 71-67.

Jamaal Samuel posted 15 points and eight rebounds and Majok Deng had 14 points and eight rebounds as ULM improved to 22-12.

Eastern Michigan (21-14) had 17 points from Raven Lee, 13 from Tim Bond, and 10 from Trent Perry.

Six of the eight First Round games of the 2015 CBI were decided by nine points or less while the average margin of victory in the First Round was 7.8 ppg.
