April 7, 2015 –

Fresh off its fifth national championship, Duke will begin its reign knowing that in November there is a good chance the Blue Devils could again face Wisconsin as both will participate in the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, which culminates with the Championship Rounds at the Mecca of College Basketball, Madison Square Garden. The 2015 National Championship game earned the highest television rating in 18 years.
The 21st annual 2K Classic, college basketball’s premier early-season tournament, will feature not only the Blue Devils and Badgers, but NCAA Tournament participants Georgetown and VCU in what promises to be the most eagerly-anticipated tournament of the 2015-16 season.

Tickets for the Championship Rounds of the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project, Nov. 20 & 22, are on sale and may be purchased through TicketMaster by calling (866) 448-7849 or on-line.
Duke’s roster boasts only one senior and could return nine letterwinners. On that roster are currently eight McDonald’s All-Americans with two more on the horizon – Luke Kennard and Chase Jeter. The Blue Devils posted a 35-4 record this season. Each of Duke’s national titles has come under the direction of Hall of Fame head coach Mike Krzyzewski.

Wisconsin (36-4), which earned its second straight Final Four berth and first National Championship game appearance since 1941, has 12 players, including three starters, expected to return in 2015-16, led by junior forward Sam Dekker and sophomore forward Nigel Hayes.

Georgetown (22-11), which reached the third round of the NCAA Tournament, features a roster with nine players expected back, including two of starters, highlighted by freshman forward Isaac Copeland.

VCU (26-10) has a roster featuring 10 players who are expected to return next season, including three starters. Among those returnees are junior guard Melvin Johnson and sophomore forward Mo Alie-Cox.

It is rare that a rematch of the National Championship game can be played so early the next season. Don’t miss out on the chance to see the best of college basketball in the 2K Classic benefiting Wounded Warrior Project at Madison Square Garden.
