IMMEDIATE RELEASE Guardians Classic Final Results Princeton, NJ (November 23, 2001) – In the inaugural Guardians Classic championship game, Missouri beat Iowa 78-77. Alabama beat Memphis 81-70 in the consolation game. Click here for the bracket with all final results from the Guardians Classic. Clarence Gilbert of Missouri was the KC Masterpiece Most Valuable Player of the Tournament. The other four members of the Kansas City Star All-Tournament Team were Luke Recker (Iowa), Reggie Evans (Iowa), Rod Grizzard (Alabama) and Dajuan Wagner (Memphis).
