The Coaches vs. Cancer Classic is the nation's premier season-opening college basketball tournament. Twelve teams from across the nation will compete in the event with four of the top teams in the country serving as regional hosts. Regional Round action takes place from Nov. 8-12 with the four hosts advancing to the Championship Rounds, Nov. 18-19, at New York's Madison Square Garden. The remainder of the field will participate in a round-robin series at one of two subregional sites. Thus, every participating team is guaranteed four games.
Since 1996, the Gazelle Group, producers of the Coaches vs. Cancer Classic, has raised more than $4.5 million to support the fight against cancer.

Coaches vs. Cancer, a nationwide collaboration between the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the American Cancer Society, exists to leverage the strength, community leadership and celebrity of our country’s basketball coaches to raise awareness and in turn, reduce cancer risk through education programs while raising funds for the fight against cancer.
Through the efforts of more than 500 basketball coaches and the nation’s largest voluntary health organization, nearly $40 million dollars has been raised since 1994. The money raised provides prevention, research, education and advocacy services in more than 3,400 local communities – the communities where we live.
