Overtime Run Sends Beavers Marching into CBI Championship Series

CORVALLIS, Ore.Roeland Schaftenaar sparked a 7-0 overtime run and Oregon State came from behind for a 65-62 win against Stanford in Wednesday's semifinals of the College Basketball Invitational.

Lathan Wallace had 16 points and three steals for Oregon State (16-17), which lost a six-point lead in the final 2:30 of regulation, but overcame a five-point deficit in overtime.

Schaftenaar added 14 points and Calvin Haynes 10 for the Beavers, who will host Texas-El Paso on Monday in the first game of the best-of-three CBI championship series.

Anthony Goods led Stanford (20-14) with 20 points.

It was the fourth meeting of the year between the Pac-10 conference rivals. The Beavers swept the regular-season games, but the Cardinal got even in the first round of the postseason tournament.
