State to Host 2004 BCA Invitational
Princeton,
NJ (September 21, 2004)
The
Gazelle Group is pleased to announce the field for the 2004 Black
Coaches Association (BCA) Invitational men's college basketball
tournament. NC State, will host the eight-team tournament on November
17-19, 2004, at the RBC Center in Raleigh, N.C.
"We are
very excited to be the host school for one of the country's premier
preseason tournaments," said NC State head coach Herb Sendek.
"It will be a great experience for our program to play this
type of competition this early in the season."
In addition
to NC State, this year's event will feature two other North Carolina
schools in Elon University and East Carolina University. Please

match-ups, dates and game times.
Game times for
the opening round of games Nov. 17th are as follows:
noon - East Carolina vs. Pepperdine
2 p.m. - Oregon State vs. Siena
7 p.m. - NC State vs. New Orleans
9 p.m. - Fairleigh Dickinson vs. Elon

Last season
the Wolfpack reached the second round of the NCAA tournament, securing
its third straight tournament appearance and finishing the year
ranked 20th in the final coaches poll. This season will feature
the return of the 2003-04 ACC Player of the Year and 2004-05 national
Player of the Year candidate Julius Hodge. NC State also hosted
the inaugural BCA invitational in 2001 where they defeated East
Carolina in the championship game.

really excited to have this opportunity to work with the eight programs
participating in this year's Invitational," said Floyd Keith,
Executive Director of the BCA. "We are exceptionally grateful
to NC State and the city of Raleigh for hosting this year's tournament.
The rich basketball traditions of the school and the city will make
the event extremely positive for everyone involved."
The Black Coaches
Association is a nonprofit organization whose primary purpose is
to foster the growth and development of minorities at all levels
of sport both nationally and internationally. The BCA is committed
to creating a positive, enlightened environment and common ground
where issues can be examined closely, debated sincerely and resolved
honestly. Throughout the BCA’s 15-year history, the organization
has been at the forefront of the effort to enhance the employment
opportunities and professional development of the minority professional.
