Clark leads Colorado State with 20 points in Dell™ BCA Invitational

FORT COLLINS,
CO -- Colorado State won its 21st consecutive season opener this
evening against IPFW on the first night of the Dell™ BCA Invitational
in Moby Arena, 80-62.
Junior Ronnie
Clark led the Rams in scoring with 20 points and posted a career-high
and game-high seven rebounds. Sophomore Matt Williams also tallied
a career-high with 16 points on the evening and senior Brian Greene
had his 41st career double-figure scoring game with 19 points. Freshman
Micheal Morris also notched double figures with 10 points and added
a game-high five assists.
“It was
good to welcome back Brian Greene,” said head coach Dale Layer.
“This is the best we’ve played so far. Turnovers were
more controlled in the second half and Ronnie Clark played the best
game of his career so far.”
IPFW was led
by Terry Collins with 15 points, while Jim Kessenich chipped in
14 and DeAngelo Woodall scored 10 points. Kessenich also led the
squad with six rebounds and Woodall had a game-high four steals.
"IPFW is
much improved from last year,” continued Layer. “I kept
waiting for them get tired, but they played extremely hard. They
are at least 15 points better than they were a year ago and I’m
very impressed with their effort.”
IPFW will play
on Monday in the first game against Cleveland State at 5:00 p.m.
MST, while Colorado State and Florida Atlantic will play in the
night cap, scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. MST.
The Dell™
BCA Invitational will conclude on Tuesday evening with IPFW and
Florida Atlantic squaring off at 5:30 p.m. MST and Colorado State
and Cleveland State closing out the tournament at 8 p.m. MST.
