Classic. Kickoff is set for 6:45 pm.

"We (Chiefs)
are extremely pleased to be hosting the BCA Classic at Arrowhead
on Saturday, August 23rd of this year," said Carl D. Peterson,
President of the Kansas City Chiefs. "Bill Snyder’s Kansas
State Wildcats and Jeff Tedford’s Berkeley Bears, are fine
representatives in this important contest. This game is not only
important for the opponents and the BCA; it is important for Kansas
City itself. Each time that we can host a national game at Arrowhead,
it brings not only recognition to our city, it brings fans, media,
and visitors from afar to our lovely city. I know that many of our
Chiefs’ season ticket holders will want to take advantage
of their opportunity to attend this exciting event."
Head Coach
Bill Snyder’s Wildcats, coming off an impressive 11-2 campaign
and Holiday Bowl victory last year, will take on the California
Golden Bears of the Pacific 10 Conference. The Golden Bears finished
last season with a 7-5 record.
This will be
the first ever meeting between the two programs. Kansas State last
played at Arrowhead Stadium in 2000, when they defeated the Iowa
Hawkeyes 27-7 in front of 77,148 fans.
"Our players
and coaches are pleased to have the opportunity to assist the Black
Coaches Association," said Kansas State coach Bill Snyder.
"We are excited to play one of the most improved football programs
in the country in the University of California; to further enhance
the great relationship we have with the Kansas City Chiefs and our
Kansas City fan base; and the opportunity to continue to financially
support all sports at Kansas State. The frightening thing is playing
an opponent that scored 73 points against a Big 12 team in its opening
game last year."
