California and Kansas State will play the first game of the 2003 college football season when they square off in the BCA Classic at Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium. The game will be broadcast live to a nationwide audience on ESPN Television.

Proceeds from the game benefit the Black Coaches Association and provides scholarships for minority students throughout the country.
