St. X has the most successful athletic program in the
state of Kentucky, having won 133 men’s state championships. In 2005 St. Xavier
was ranked No. 14 in Sports Illustrated’s “Best High School Athletic Programs.”

Ranked No. 4 in the country by Dime Magazine in its preseason poll,
American Christian boasts one of the top players in the country in point guard Tyreke Evans
along with Louisville commit Lamont Jones. Evans is ranked by Dime Magazine as the No. 2 player in the nation. He has offers from
Louisville, Villanova, UConn, Memphis, Texas and Seton Hall although reports say Louisville and Villanova are
his top two choices. Only a junior, Jones has already committed to play his college ball for the
Louisville Cardinals.

The acclaimed IMG Academy always has a number of Division I
prospects on its squad, and this year’s team is no different. IMG Academy has
produced more than 30 NBA players and has had its high school talent go on
to play at such schools as Syracuse and Kentucky. Ken Kadji is the No. 25 ranked recruit and the No. 5 ranked center in the class
of 2008 according to scout.com. He has committed to play for Billy Donovan at the
University of Florida. Jared Swopshire is the 89th ranked recruit and the 19th ranked
small forward in class of ’08 according to scout.com. He is a four-star prospect
with offers from Marquette, Clemson, Utah, South Carolina and Cincinnati. |
